Starting at the beginning of this month Clos Du Bois winery sold limited edition bottles of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. YOu probably are thinking “what’s so special”. Well, it is so special because the limited edition was based purely on the label designed by Banana Republic’s creative director Simon Kneen. I mean there is no taste difference, no special grapes! The only thing that makes this edition so interesting is the collaboration with Banana Republic!
I find it specifically interesting because of my marketing background. In marketing, all the promotional and advertising efforts are strategic. This case of a luxurious fashion brand partnering with a winery means one thing – Banana Republic’s customers like wine! And not just any wine, but the wine priced above average but not too expensive.
I am definitely a Banana Republic girl. And come to think of it, I love wine (Right, Rachie?!)! I am certainly very proud of Banana’s latest marketing efforts, they have re-sparked my interest in their clothing line!
